Fortunately in 2022, the new owner of Miami Seaquarium pledged to work with an organization of Lolita advocates called Friends of Toki and the Lummi tribe who consider her a relative, on a plan to eventually move her to open waters. The sanctuary pen will be hundreds of times bigger than her Miami home and be surrounded by the actual ocean, not a concrete tank.
